Armenia’s Ambassador to Russia visited Pashkovsky Cultural Centre (Krasnodar)

You are the bridge between Armenia and Russia”, said the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Russia Mr. Vardan Toghanyan at the meeting with the Armenian community of Kuban.

The visit to the southern capital began with viewing Pashkovsky Armenian Cultural Centre of Krasnodar. Vardan Toghanyan, who was accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in SFD Vardan Asoyan and the Chairman of the Krasnodar regional branch of the Union of Armenians of Russia Razmik Gevorgyan, with a keen interest looked over the Centre’s building, which is about to open its doors to all who wish to touch the culture of the historical homeland – Armenia. The distinguished guest was met by Andrey Amosov, a Krasnodar businessman, whose efforts made it possible to create this unique object. The Chairman of the Cultural Center, Deputy of the City Council of Krasnodar Vladimir Maryanyan talked about the plans and challenges facing the Centre. The guest was presented with a commemorative gift. The Ambassador, in return, presented the Centre some rare editions. Then he lit a candle at the Armenian Church of Saints Sahak and Mesrop.

On the same day, after the scheduled meeting with Governor of Kuban Veniamin Kondratyev, the Ambassador met with the Armenian public and representatives of the business elite. There was a keen discussion about the problems of national self-identity preservation of Russian citizens of Armenian ancestry, as well as the ways of strengthening cultural and economic ties with Armenia.
